My New Addiction!

So I have began a new hobby (addiction) which includes my love of miniatures and Calico Critters (from when I was a child) aka Sylvanian families. My son and I have began collecting them and writing books with them. I will post our first story soon. Currently I am in the process of decorating a house for the Calicos and will be posting pictures of my journey soon. I just had to get a picture of a super rare family I very luckily aquired on ebay... it will be Ethan's gift from Santa this year. I saw just one of these (the mom) on ebay recently selling for $199!!! That is crazy!!! Luckily I won the austion for MUCH less than that and it had many other rare sets included. I never imagined I would actually win it, but I am so thankful that I did!!! Ethan has already said he is asking Santa for just one of the Ermine White Otters... I thought, "great, there is NO way I can ever get even just one" :( but see the picture below and you'll see I have the entire set of six! I could not be happier!

Gavin's HotRod

My Mom and I found this old pedal car at a flea market and fell in love. Gavin was driving it all over the place, but it was in desperate need of repair. Here is the finished product, Mom bought the car, Lance Ketchum repainted the body, I did the wheels and replaced the rubber tires and pedals, Pa made the wooden seat, Uncle Eddie welded the brace in the front, and Ethan helped me sand and clean the wheels and underneath the car. What a family effort! We gave Gavin the car for his 3rd birthday present and he was so excited!

Poor Gavin

I have to admit Ronald McDonald is scary.

Yes, I am aware that one day Gavin will hate me... or have a huge fear of clowns.
